Silverback is Off to a Strong Start! What the Numbers Tell Us

When we announced the return of Silverbacks, we weren’t sure what to expect. This has been our most requested project for years, but this is the first time we’ve brought Silverbacks back as a full collectible series instead of a one-off release. While the Silver Dragon was a stand-alone piece, the Hades Silverback is the first in a series called the Legends of Olympus.
Our intention was to create something for collectors of all kinds, not just precious metal stackers. We see Silverbacks as a way to introduce new audiences to silver through storytelling and art, and hopefully spark curiosity about other precious metals and sound money along the way.
So far, the response has been incredible! Since the announcement, more than 1,200 people have signed up to receive Silverback updates. Multiple sellers outside of the precious metals industry have also shown interest, including trading card shops! While it’s still early, this data gives us a good sense of how people are responding to the idea of a story-driven silver collectible.
What the Numbers Tell Us
Early subscriber numbers show that there’s definitely room for a silver collectible based on story and artwork. If this momentum continues, the Hades Silverback could sell out quickly!
Interest from new sellers is just as important. Many retailers are already raising their hands, giving Silverbacks the potential to be available in a variety of shops. Wider accessibility makes collecting and sharing Silverbacks much easier, which is exactly how we want them to be enjoyed.
How Silverbacks Compare to Goldbacks
We’ve seen some questions about how Silverbacks differ from Goldbacks. While they may look similar at first glance, they’re designed for very different purposes:

- Goldbacks are a voluntary currency. Their value tracks double the spot price of gold. They are made to be saved or spent at thousands of businesses in the Goldback private business network.
- Silverbacks are collectibles. They aren’t meant for everyday transactions or bullion stacking. Their value comes from their collectibility, artwork, and storytelling. Past Silverback releases have appreciated over time based on collector demand rather than the spot price of silver.
In short, Silverbacks live in a different lane. They’re meant to be collected and traded, not spent.
