The 1/4 Goldback is Coming Soon!
We’re thrilled to announce that a new Goldback denomination is on its way: the 1/4 Goldback! It only seems appropriate with the price of gold exploding above $5,000 per ounce and climbing!
The 1/4 Goldback will contain 1/4,000th of a troy ounce of 24-karat gold and will be interchangeable with all existing denominations. Developing this 1/4 was a massive undertaking. The small amount of gold required us to utilize a smaller surface area, otherwise they’d be transparent. Quarters will be about the size of a standard business card.
The 1/4 will first be released with the Idaho series, which we’re projecting will be this March. Our hope is to release a unique quarter design for Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona in 2026 as well.

Why a 1/4 Goldback?
On the reasoning behind the 1/4 Goldback, our founder and CEO, Jeremy Cordon, explained, “The 1/4 Goldback gives users greater flexibility, allowing for more accurate change and smaller transactions. Under the old U.S. gold standard, one ounce of gold was worth around $20 and could be divided into 2,000 pennies. The ability to split gold that small was a big inspiration for the 1/4 Goldback, and recent improvements in the manufacturing process made it possible to produce.”
We’re excited to add this new denomination to our line-up, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Gold was always meant to circulate, and with the ¼ Goldback, we’re making it more practical and accessible for the modern world.
